The staff at Moreton Morrell School ensure that rich and varied texts are selected to support our curriculum offer. Our teaching staff have the knowledge and understanding of what is needed to support children to become lifelong readers and writers – we believe that this begins with making sure children have access to great books. So we do everything we can to make sure that our pupils see a range of high-quality texts to support their journey to literacy.
The use of high-quality books within the reading curriculum is at the heart of our school’s successful approach to engage and support children to become motivated and independent readers. If children enjoy reading, they read more frequently and become better readers. Reading unlocks a child’s potential and equips them to be ‘lifelong learners’.
