ALIVE 2023 brought thousands of children together to worship God. Moreton Morrell School took an active roll in this celebration. On the 15th and 16th June 2023, 8000 primary school children and 1000 adults attended ALIVE 2023, a massive praise party organised by the Coventry Diocesan Board of Education (DBE) in partnership with Imagine Ministries and Feed the Hungry.
Taking place at the NAEC, Stoneleigh Park, ALIVE 2023 comprised of four worship concerts and two mass picnics over the two days – a total of 9,000 people! Key Stage 2 children from the family of 76 Church of England primary schools in the Diocese of Coventry were invited. The children and their teachers were treated to live performances from a variety of contributors. iSingPOP brought life and energy with their incredibly catchy ‘iSingPOP Praise’ songs, Chip Kendall and his Orbitron International Space Crew took 9,000 people on an intergalactic worship adventure and Shell Perris’s ‘World Changers’ anthem raised the roof! iSingPOP explored ‘how to be a world changer’ in Classroom Worship LIVE, Feed the Hungry shared their vision to see hungry people fed one meal at a time, Diocesan Director of Education, April Gold, told the story of Jesus feeding the 5000, and the Bishop of Coventry blessed everyone.
This mass celebration inspired the pupils so much that they wanted to continue to share in praise and worship within the Fosse MAT. The idea for the Junior Jamboree was born… The staff and pupils recognised that coming together is incredibly powerful and demonstrates what can be achieved when forces join together for the good of others.
The Junior Jamboree gave ALL of the pupils in the Fosse MAT the opportunity to come together in praise, as iSingPOP went into every school to complete singing workshops, which lead into a concert at the end of the week of celebrations. Meaning that nearly 1,000 had the chance to understand how they could be WORLD CHANGERS!
The Jamboree itself was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils in year 6 across the Fosse MAT to come together to worship, to sing, dance, to be loud, to be still, to share food and to build lasting memories. Having to opportunity to lay out under the stars and to wonder at how incredible our world is was a special time for many of the children.
