An act of Collective Worship takes place every day at Moreton Morrell C of E Primary School and is an important part of school life, making space for pupils and staff to come together and share in worship through learning, music, reflection and prayer.
Our worship is inclusive, invitational and inspiring and gives all of the school community the chance to be part of the experience, while respecting the integrity of family and cultural backgrounds. Collective Worship is always linked to our school vision – The weekly pattern of Collective Worship looks like this:
Monday – Headteacher’s worship, introducing the focus of the week/term. This is always linked to our school vision and values.
Tuesday – This worship is led by a member of the clergy and is often linked to celebration days or events within the calendar.
Wednesday – Whole school sung Collective Worship led by Mrs James
Thursday – Each teacher takes a turn each term to deliver Collective Worship linked to the school vision and values
Friday – RESPECT Assembly- An opportunity for our wider school community to join us to celebrate the achievements of the week.

How worship is organised at Moreton Morrell School
The school has a close link with the church and the wider community. We take part in special events and engage in local projects. Recently the school staff joined forces with local residents to create a ‘Pocket Park’ for the school children and local residents alike to enjoy. The aim of the new wildlife area within the church grounds is to create a safe space where different generations can meet and wonder at how wonderful nature is!
The pupils have had the opportunity to forge links with the local college in the village and have recently been invited to the college workshops to be taught by the carpentry students how to make bat boxes and hedgehog houses. The items that the pupils and students have produced can be seen in the pocket park- making this space a truly community project! Working with others gives the pupils have the opportunity to be courageous advocates, enabling our pupils and to make ethical choices and to be agents of change. We encourage our pupils to be WORLD CHANGERS. As you can see from the photos below- our pupils have made a positive impact to the local wildlife and the wider community.
