In June 2020 the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up on missed learning caused by coronavirus (COVID19). This is especially important for the most vulnerable pupils and pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds as research from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) shows that these pupils have been most affected.
School allocations was calculated on a per pupil basis.
Moreton Morrell C of E Primary School received £80 for each pupil from reception to year 11 inclusive.
Schools were advised to use their funding in a way that suited their cohort and circumstances and were expected to use this funding for specific activities to help pupils catch up on missed learning. Schools were encouraged to particularly focus on disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils.
