We offer an excellent start to your child’s education by ensuring that pupils are stimulated and engaged in a range of exciting activities. Sessions are planned and led by a qualified Early Years teacher Miss Emily James and are supported by fully qualified teaching assistants, Mrs Gail Lunn and Mrs Sally Clarke.
The children enjoy a comfortable and nurturing environment in the Pre School room and are fully encouraged to try new learning experiences.
‘The Early Years provision is a key strength of the school. Pupils are well challenged from the moment they join the school and parents are encouraged to take part in their learning journey.’
Ofsted April 2017
From the term after their third birthday, your child is eligible for Early Education Funding (EEF). Funding is available to use at Pre-school sessions up to a maximum of 15 hours per week. Funding for up to 15 hours (equivalent to 5 sessions per week) can be claimed under the EEF entitlement. Any additional sessions must be paid for by parents themselves.
We recommend that parents log onto www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to check their eligibility to Extended Entitlement, of 30 hours of free childcare.
At Moreton Morrell, we offer the funded hours based on 3 hour sessions. However, if your child is staying all day on the funded route, lunch provision is not included and will incur an additional cost of £2.50 per day to cover the cost of supervision over the lunch period.
Pre-school bills are issued at the start of every half term and must be paid for in advance. Fees may be paid weekly, monthly or half termly.
A full half-terms notice is required to change the pattern of attendance so that we can ensure we have the correct number of staff required by Ofsted.
Parents do not need to use all 15 hours allocated.
Parents are able to change, increase or decrease their child’s funded sessions from term to term, subject to spaces being available. However, funding can only be claimed for regular sessions ‘booked’ at the start of each term. If parents wish to move their child to another setting before the census date, they will be responsible for all fees for that term plus fees over the notice period of 1 month.
